Adam feels overwhelmed by his MS. His symptoms only happen every so often, but he can’t always anticipate them. He lies in bed wishing he had “someone to talk [him] out of these crippling thoughts” (264). He misses Zayneb and wishes they could spend more time together. Then, he messages Connor to come over.
Adam and Connor spend the afternoon playing video games at Adam’s house. Adam starts playing his guitar, too, and they talk about their feelings. Adam shares more about Zayneb.
Adam continues to think about Zayneb after Connor leaves. When Hanna comes home, she checks on Adam. He and their dad told her about his MS the night before. Adam journals about his gratitude for Hanna and Connor. He writes an entry about Zayneb, too.
Zayneb and Auntie Nandy visit Katara together. Zayneb marvels at the sights as they wander around the cultural village. Then they head to the amphitheater to meet up with Adam’s family. Auntie Nandy secretly made the plans. On the way, Zayneb decides that she’ll have to apologize to Adam in person. As the production starts, Zayneb thinks about everything that’s happened between her and Adam.
