  • Bio: Canadian journalist, author, podcast host, and public speaker; born in 1963 in England; grades were not good enough for graduate school, so he studied advertising; rejected from every advertising agency he applied to before landing in journalism; has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1996; has hosted the Revisionist History podcast since 2016; founded the podcast company Pushkin Industries in 2018; one of Time’s 100 most influential people; won the American Sociological Association’s first Excellence in the Reporting of Social Issues award in 2007; holds two honorary degrees from University of Waterloo and University of Toronto; awarded the Order of Canada, the country’s second highest honor, in 2011
